About saranam
saranam was conceptualized with the objective of relieving serious health-related suffering by creating access to integrated palliative care for those with chronic and life limiting conditions, the elderly, and the disadvantaged.
saranam will address the ability for family members and care-givers to cope with the challenges of such suffering.
saranam is an initiative of The Sheltr Foundation, a not-for-profit, grassroots, philanthropic organization, registered as a Sec 8 company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Relieving physical suffering through accessible, continuous medical care — across settings and stages of illness.
Supporting emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs — for individuals, families, and caregivers.
Grounded in global best practices and adapted to local realities, cultures, and contexts.

Our Vision
To integrate palliative and end of life care into mainstream public healthcare systems — to alleviate serious health-related suffering.
We envision a future where access to compassionate, high-quality palliative and end-of-life care is recognised as a fundamental human right — available to everyone, regardless of social, economic, or geographic circumstances.
Saranam seeks to lead this transformation by ensuring dignity, comfort, and compassionate support for individuals and families living with serious illness.
